9-14 / 3 / 14

Hi.  Life has veered me in a few different directions over the last few weeks.  All good, all learning and growing, always grateful.  It never stops does it?!?!

So here's a few pics from earlier in the month...

decoration!

THE yummiest icecream cake, EVER!

This serves with the most divine chocolate sauce which
was just cream and melted chocolate.  OMG.

Really nice chardonnay!
love my little Japanese cup to drink it from

paper lantern from Daiso.  yep, $2.80, and it
even comes with an led light that twinkles.  Bargain!

Have really been loving all the big chunky, rain clouds
over the last week.  and the rain that has tumbled
down from them.

March is birthday month for my 'little darlings'.
Stella 13 and Cooper 15

AND, if that's not enough, I have some really big exciting news, which I am soooo proud of.  No, nothing to do with the darlings.  I'll be back soon to share...
Hope your week is off to a happy start.

6-8 March 14

Happy Weekend to you.  I hope it's been a good day for you.

I have had the best day in ages, just at home, my favourite place, with my favourite people + dog + chook!  Lots of gardening, moving stuff around, the usual washing + some lovely old, old, old, pure wool blankets, one of which used to be on my bed when I was 'little', and the other (pink) was an op shop find by my mum.

Here's my pics....

Yes, I am prepared, and looking forward to the cooler weather.
Bring it on!!!
Second book by Lisa Verge Higgins.
Loved her first one titled:
The Proper Care and Maintenance of Friendship
A quick trip to the library, made it with five minutes until closing time.  Library cafΓ© closed, bummer.  But I got the book!  I love my council library service.  I put a hold on this book at about 10.30pm last night, and by lunchtime today, they had emailed me and told me it was ready for collection, and this is from one of the busiest libraries in Brisbane.  And... it only cost me 80cents for them to rush around and organize that for me.  Are you a library user?  My budget dictates that I borrow novels from the library.  If I come across a non-fiction book that I just have to own, I usually see if I can borrow it from the library first, to check it out, then if I still want it, I then add it to the 'wish list'.  Currently on my wish list is.... Granny Chic by Tif Fussell aka - Dotty Angel.  My Heart Wanders by Pia Jane Bijkerk.  Patch by Cath Kidston.  So I keep an eye out for them on Fishpond or give up my list when my birthday is coming round.

time for a cuppa and a sit down

Enjoying the wonderful breezy afternoon, washing flapping
on the old 'hills hoist'.  Nothing beats it.

Love

Finally, my new curtain for the hallway.  I have kept forgetting to show you these!   I am sooo thrilled with the way it turned out, and really makes a difference when the air-con is on, as it acts as a blocker for the cool air, which previously escaped down the hallway. Oh, and don't you love the fabric.  I bought this piece nearly 10 years ago at Spotlight.  It's been in my stash all this time, waiting for the perfect project.  No point rushing these things!!

So that was today!  I am tired but so happy with all that I've achieved.  In fact, to finish the day, a cup of chai tea would go down well just about now.   See you tomorrow!

1 2 3 4 5 March

Hi there.  I hope you're having a good week.

So, today I was sitting in the morning traffic, having just done the school drop-off, and on my way to work.  It took four changes of lights to get me through a major intersection.  I started to get a bit toey, looking at the time, wishing the lights would change.  Then my little inner voice spoke to me.  "Aren't we an amazing society, the way we diligently make our way to work each day, do what needs to be done, for our children, for each other".  It's so true isn't it!  And do you ever wonder about the person in the car next to you or in front of you?  How's their morning been, what's going on in their life, are they happy?  So, instead of wishing the lights would hurry up and change, I used that time to send some love to everyone around me, wishing them a good day.  I got to work when I got to work, as all was well.

Here's my photos for the last few days....

22/2 lazy sunday morning

It wasn't exactly a 'sleep-in', as I have been awake since 4.09am, but it's been a beautiful lazy morning in bed with several cups of tea, some toast with peanut paste, favourite magazines, a visit from Dusty, then, to top it off, my love cooked my breakfast (which I hopped out of bed to eat!).  I can't remember the last time I took this kind of lazy time for myself.  Ought to be more of it I reckon!  Hope your day is off to a peaceful, lazy start.

16-21 Feb

Hi there.  Well, thank heavens for the weekend and some slightly cooler weather.  I thought I would go mad with the heat, more so the humidity this week and having to work in it!  I was too exhausted when I got home to even go outside with the camera.

I've been taking some inside, and have done a lovely big walk with Miss Dusty this morning and took the camera with us.  A really nice thing happened.  As we were walking across the park near home, we came across a lady with her camera.  We laughed at the co-incidence of meeting in the park with our cameras, when most people in the surrounding houses were probably still sleeping.

I love the early morning, I truly think it is the best part of the day.  What is your favourite time of the day?

Here goes...

These first few pics are so exciting, because I won a prize.  Not just any prize either.  You must know Koralee from http://www.bluebirdnotes.blogspot.com.au/    She has THE sweetest blog, beautiful quotes, simple, meaningful.  It's a blog I retreat to for nourishing my weary soul.  Well, I won her card giveaway!!!!!  I was soooo excited and it's arrived.  Loooooook.......

It was such a delight to receive my parcel, so beautifully wrapped and special!  Thank you Koralee.  I think I will have to frame them because I could never part with them.  Maybe one day when you start selling your collection, I can stock up!  xxxx

Here's how the rest of the week looked through the lens.....

candle love

Reminders are good!  I sprinkle them
around the house.

The very beautiful Louise.  As she ages, her new feathers
are longer, with so much more red coming through.

One for each human in the house!

Always stunning, flowering gum
Where will we go today?
I hope you have a great weekend whatever you are up to.

It's been a bit of a funny old week for me, hence my accumulation of photos!   As positive as we can try and be, some weeks are crappy.  But I do have some really happy things to share in my next post.  Stay tuned, and please stop long enough to leave me a message and say hello!  I need the love right now.
