I'm grateful for...

I had the absolute joy of being awake before dawn each day we spent at the coast a few weeks ago.  I would very quietly make a cup of tea, light a candle on the balcony and wait.  From the dawn, the changing colours of the clouds to the sunrise and that faithful blinding light that we take for granted each day.  I was in my element.  Here's what I captured, before I had to reach for my sunglasses!

I hope your week ahead is full of golden moments and plenty of sunshine.

The art of recycling

I've been creating more small joys.  In the name of recyling, I used this old round breadboard as my blank canvas and painted it.

I've made it for my husband as a welcome home pressie, he's on a little trip at the moment.  I'm going to hang it on the fence outside our bedroom window, so every day when he opens the curtains, he gets a little reminder from me.

Hope you've been having a good week.

A little bit of 'Jane-creative'

Hello friends
I've indulged in a little bit of 'jane-creative'.  I'm very proud of it as I'm really trying to relax into a form of art that 'moves' me.  My blank canvas went from this.....

to this.....

Isn't she beautiful?  I found the most scrumptious cards at Millar and More at Bangalow last week.  They are by an artist called Crispin Korschen and are published by http://www.barkingmad.net.nz/  This one is titled 'blossoming', which I love because that's where I'm at.

I'm yet to put the finishing touches on to seal the overall work.  I'd love to hear what you think of it, only if you like it!  I'm delicate.

I hope you're having a wonderul week and blossoming in your own special way, whether at work or home, inside or outside.

around home...

Happy weekend to you.  I hope you are enjoying some sunshine in your part of the world today.  I've been pottering around this morning taking in some of the things I love about our home.

A big bowl of oranges is so colourful, and doesn't it take a while to get them all balanced nicely in the bowl.
Then someone you love comes along and decides they want juice.  There goes my centrepiece that took so long to balance!  I just keep smiling.

Amethyst crystal clusters are used to keep the air
and life force in the home clean and positive.
Do you have any crystals?  I have some really special ones including this stunning amethyst cluster.  It's about the size of a hand with fully spread fingers.  It sits on my much loved and admired green hall table as you enter our home.

It rests on a very beautiful linen piece which I picked up in Walcha, NSW, last year.  I bought a few little pieces of linen.  This one didn't have a price on it and when i handed it to the lady, she gave it a funny look and told me i could 'just have that one'.  One persons trash... you know the rest.  I love it.  It's incomplete which leaves me thinking...  I wonder who the crafter was behind this and why it was never finished.  The joys of treasure hunting!

Oh, you want to see my much loved green hall table.

I love her legs, her colour, her presence.  My heart lifts whenever I see her.
Green is said to be a heart healing colour.  It's works for me!

If you are wondering what the canvas says, here's a close up.  I did blog this a while ago, but I've made many friends since then who may not have seen it.

my canvas art

Which reminds me, I've promised myself a day of gardening and creating.  I get so involved in reading other blogs and pottering around the place, I lose track of time.  Have a special day.

A quick hello

Hi friends
I've been on holidays at the Gold Coast (again!), it's been tough watching the sun rise each morning, walking on the beach, digging for pippies, spending quality time with my parents, grandad teaching youngsters how to fish, but I got through it!  I even managed to check out a great little scrapbooking shop, and a quick drive down to Bangalow to a favourite shop, Millar and More (who are going online soon, check it out).  Bliss.
Do you journal?  I do, kind of spasmodically.  Do you like this journal?  It's my current one which I totally love.  Hopefully you can read what the cover says, which is why i chose it.
