vintage buttons...

As a little show and tell, and after reading Salvation Jane latest blog, I thought i'd share a little vintage button project i undertook with my horse-mad girl.

We painted this large canvas this lovely chocolate colour.  I used crayons to do the writing and heart outline and we used vintage buttons to fill in the heart.  No job is complete without some purple, so we added some old purple buttons along the bottom.  For a real vintage look, we left the old cotton on some of the buttons.

In a totally unrelated story, did i tell you about the time when we thought the chooks had stopped laying recently.  They seemed so healthy and happy and it wasn't the middle of winter.  Each day when their nest was empty, i was scratching my head wondering why there were no eggs.  Anyway, i decided they i would go on an egg hunt.  Look what i found....

Three and half days worth of eggs hiding under some branches in the garden.

Enjoy the rest of your week.  I sure will.  Eyelash tint - tick, spa pedicure - tick.  Off to the Goldie for some sun and sand with those i love,  including our wedding anniversary.

The perfect wedding venue, on the beach at The Pass, Byron Bay, 7.30am, 6 May 2006.  Followed by a delicious wedding brunch with our family and friends at The Fig Tree at Ewingsdale.
